HOW DO I GET A CART LIKE THE ONES I’VE SEEN IN SOME AREAS?

We offer Cart Service on most of our routes. Please contact us

DO YOU TAKE CHRISTMAS TREES?

Sanico collects Christmas trees from residential customers except from those customers located in Morris County. Trees must be cut into sections no longer than 4 feet. Put your cut up tree out with your regular trash. Residents of Washington Township, Morris County may drop off Christmas trees at the DPW, 54 Rock Rd.

WHY WASN’T MY CHRISTMAS TREE TAKEN THIS WEEK?

Sometimes, because of the volume of trees and trash after the holidays, there is not enough room in the truck for everyone’s tree. It will be picked up during the following weeks as the volume of trash decreases.

WHEN WILL MY GARBAGE BE PICKED UP?

Garbage collections are made once per week beginning at 5AM. Pick-up time may vary week to week. Place your trash within 5 feet of the road the evening before your collection day. During periods of inclement weather, collection may be delayed. If you are unable to get to work, most likely our collection crews can’t either.

WHY WASN’T MY GARBAGE PICKED UP?

In many cases our crews have been advised not to pick up due to late payment. Please check your bill. Other reasons include:

  • The most frequent reason is that the trash was not out when the driver went through
  • The can was too heavy to be picked up
  • Driver was threatened by a dog
  • Denied access to road by road repair or utility crews
  • Garbage container was not accessible within 5 feet of road surface

WHEN WILL MY RECYCLABLES BE PICKED UP?

Recyclables are collected every other week for most of our customers. Please see our Recycling Schedules.

HOW DO I PREPARE MY RECYCLING?

See our recycling Rules of Thumb.

WHY DIDN’T THE RECYCLING CREW PICK UP MY BOTTLES AND CANS?

Bottles and cans must be in a garbage can not larger than 20 gallons displaying a special recycling decal supplied by Sanico. Currently, Sanico offers a 20 gallon recycling can at no additional cost. Please contact us for details.

The recycling material must be placed away from the garbage so the recycling driver can identify the recycling. Any recycling materials put in a bag will be considered garbage and will not be collected. Please see our recycling Rules of Thumb.

I HAVE BEEN COLLECTING MAGAZINES FOR YEARS. IS THERE A SPECIAL WAY TO RECYCLE THEM?

Please tie the magazines up with twine in both directions. Place them at the curb for your scheduled recycling pickup over the course of several weeks. Please don’t put out several year’s worth of magazines out for one pickup.

WHAT HAPPENS TO MY RECYCLED JUNK MAIL AND MAGAZINES?

Sanico delivers most junk mail and magazines to domestic and international markets where new consumer paper products are made.

I PUT MY NEWSPAPERS IN BAGS. WHY DIDN’T THEY GET PICKED UP?

The facility that accepts newspapers from our curbside collections de-inks the paper so it can be used again as newspaper. Plastic or paper bags contaminate the process. Papers must be tied with twine so they don’t blow during transportation. Please see our recycling Rules of Thumb.

WHY DIDN’T THE RECYCLING CREW TAKE ALL MY BOTTLES AND CANS?

Items are not marked with the recycling symbol have no market no market that will recycle them. These items may be put in the garbage.

Also, the recycling markets will not accept bottles and cans contaminated with product such as oil, ketchup, shampoo or detergent. Please rinse clean. For more information, see our Rules of Thumb.
